E sport as a sport ?
The further we move forward in time, the more we look for ways to entertain. Sport is one of the first hobbies we take up for that.

New sports are appearing every day, such as e Sport, which really stands out from any other sport. Or even more recently drone racing. Indeed we can talk about sport, mental but also physical. The e Sport or electronic sport takes off at the beginning of the 80s and, refers precisely to the practice on the Internet of a video game alone or in a team, and this through a computer, an tablet, smartphone or video game console. The sociology of sport uses four criteria to define a sport: high-performance motor skills, existence of competitions, rules and federations. « We talk about motor relevance more than activity. So it’s time to ask ourselves. If e Sport is really considered like any other sport despite its wide differences…



The ascent of the electronic sport in three part
The explosion of modern e-sport was played out in three stages. First the launch of League of Legends in 2009, with its free access, online competitions and strategic wealth, which in three years has propelled it to the rank of the most played PC game in the world. Then, the emergence in 2011 of the Twitch viewing platform, which has enabled the distribution of expert games. E Sport, even if it was considered only as an entertainment, there is not that long ago. Indeed training sessions of more than ten hours a day. It is also important to know that eSport is a new phenomenon. which has a great impact on the general public and particularly on young people.It brings together a large number of people. Which brings so the suspense, and the sporting action at its peak. Moreover, because of the large number of people affected by this phenomenon, both physical, mental and strategic. A federation international E-GAME, not to mention the emergence of leagues, as well as of the numerous competitions. All this administration and its rules allowing so it’s just another sports show.
In the beginning, « League of Legends » wasn’t an e-sport game at all, just a multiplayer game, but where players had a lot of fun. We realized that they were looking for tournaments, so we created this ecosystem. But first of all, the game has to be fun. The rest is up to the players to decide.

The negations of e sport as sport

Many debates are taking place concerning E-sport, and its consideration as a sport. A physical, strategic practice, accompanied by rules, with an audience, competitions, but also a international federation. But we will also be able to observe inconsistencies in the claim of the e sport recognized as a sport.
However, this one is above all considered as entertainment. Indeed, video games, whether they are on console or computer, in networks or no are primarily a means of entertainment.
Moreover, this practice puts a lot of emphasis on mental abilities, but also strategic (action plan). Some of which are for some far to put forward to become a Sport such as Football or even Judo. A practice much more mental than physical. There is also the low presence of physical capacities in relation to other sports. Even if technical qualities are noticed (use fingers on the keys), one notices that there is very little physical effort powerful at the level of the muscles, and thus much less practice known as « power ».
